BB on Stamps

BB Stamps

The Boys' Brigade is the world's oldest Voluntary Uniformed Youth Organisation. Since its beginnings in 1883, they have spread to more than 70 countries. Despite this, the Boys' Brigade have featured on very few stamps around the world, especially when compared to the Scouts! Perhaps that is what comes of being first and foremost a Christian organisation. Our only consolation is that the Boys' Brigade appears on more stamps than our sister organisation, the Girls' Brigade!

This website, will let you see how many I have found. Most were produced for the Centenary of the Boys' Brigade in 1983, but there are some others. For many of the stamps, First Day Covers were also produced.

Over the years, some Companies & Battalions have also taken the opportunity to publicise themselves and their own anniversaries by publishing commemorative covers of their own.

It should be quite possible for a boy to collect a reasonable number of these stamps in the course of a year, paving the way for a general interest in stamps, while earning a BB interest badge along the way! Internet auction sites, stamp shops and stamp fairs are all very good ways to find these stamps.

Follow the links below to see the Boys' Brigade on stamps. I doubt very much that this site is exhaustive. So if you come across some stamps or covers that are not featured here, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please send me an email. Where I know about an item but do not have it in my collection, it is listed in the relevant section, but there is no picture of it. If you have any questions or comments, then please email me.
